About Blackburn
We are proposing a mid scale wind farm development, of up to 6 turbines, to the north of Grantshouse, Duns.
Each turbine will have a rated power supply of up to 2.3MW (megawatts) with hub heights of 80m and max. rotor diameters of 93m, achieving a max. overall height of 126.5m.
Based on estimates the turbines could produce up to 36,000 MWh (megawatt hours) of clean and safe energy every year. This could be enough to provide 7700 homes with energy every year for the next 25 years. *
Every unit of electricity from a wind turbine displaces one from conventional power stations. It is estimated that the proposals have the capacity to prevent the emission of up to 16, 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum.
